However it is pretty hard task but your post and

experienced serve and teach me how to handle and make it more simple and manageable.

Thanks for the tips… Best regards.

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

@arthurficial, thats an interesting question. The Creative Commons licence is an attribution, non-commercial, Share and share alike licence.

This means that anybody can take this content, use it, modify it provided 1) they attribute it to Quirk eMarketing 2) they retain the same licence on the work 3) don't sell the rewritten work for profit.

So, yes, you could print the textbook, put together a course (which is effectively your IP) and prescribe our textbook. What you can't do is print out the book and sell it for profit etc.... the whole intention here is that people do exactly what you asking about without many of the existing barriers to entry. There is almost no practical eMarketing textbooks and we want as many people as possible to learn from it.

Ps: If you do manage to sell in this lecture please register as an educator and we will supply you with full lecture slides... just to make it even easier :) http://www.quirk.biz/emarketingtextbook/educator

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

Thanks for sharing this information. I always wonder what happened to my "emarketing" education when I was in school. There was nothing in the text books that helped prepare me for the Internet marketing world.

can't wait to start reading ...

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

just a thought..

does the creative commons license enable me to now develop a course around emarketing and sell the course to education establishments.. or even lecture on the subject myself?

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

Thanks for the very kind words. We too are very excited and hearing feedback like this makes the hard work well worth it. I will be passing these words onto the team.

@Passive Harry - Currently 'eMarketing' is the only book we have written but there are plans to do others and we are already updating the current book. If you looking for some eMarketing resources have a look at http://www.quirk.biz/resources/ there quite a lot of bits and bobs which you may find useful.

Tim

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

Do we have other cool products by Quirk? I don't think so an it doesn't make any sense for me to have a license or not.

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

Thanks for the link. You are absolutely correct - there are very few formal classes on the subject and this is a great way to educate the college masses. We love that South Africa is involved too!

Re: World First?: Creative Commons Licensed eMarketing Textbook

Could not believe my eyes.. I have been looking for a guide like this.

>The future of the Internet is “Free!” - you heard it here first :-)

Not quite true IMO this is just another use of the Freemium business model. Although it is to many peoples' advantage. But they are still selling the bound books and their other services.

http://avc.blogs.com/a_vc/2006/03/the_freemium_...
