Vinny Lingham's Blog: TechCrunch Elevator Pitch

  • Guest · 1 year ago
Loved the pitch. Short. Simple. Understandable English. Easily digestible linguistics. Posted it on arthurficial.com on 24.08.2008.

I am in the hosting business, so I run the risk of losing hosting clients by posting the video, but I think I can gain by having clients take a shot at putting their own sites together, updating it themselves and just letting me host it for them. Perhaps I can take care of the uploading process as well. Could be great fun for clients.

My one challenge is.. how do I develop a revenue stream for my company out of what Synthasite is doing?

Oh yeah.. the pay-off line at the bottom of the newsletter works brilliantly. You should consider using that as the official payoff line for Synthasite. Maybe just replace everyone with everybody.

    Hey Vinny,

I think you can sell TechCrunch...:-)

I got Mike & Mike as top friends on MySpace. Why don't you sign into your MySpace and join in too. I'm skipping CJU this year, but I'll still drop by your blog and comment you. I still got those pics from 2006 too...:-)

    Hi Vinny,
I gave you a green vote up because I thought your pitch was down to earth and very sincere. Even though I'm an experienced developer who hosts my own sites on dedicated servers, your pitch had me intrigued so I signed up an account with Synthasite to give it a test run.

I do a lot of coding in Ajax/JS/Php and I wanted to tell you that Synthasite is one of the absolute best Web 2.0 apps I've seen. I'm very impressed with the product and it's one of the most impressive CMS systems since Wordpress.

It's fairly evident to me that what you've built needs no worries about monetization. I'd be very suprised if one of the big players doesn't snatch Synthasite into their portfolio within 6 months.

I haven't dived completely into your platform yet but I was wondering if Synthasite will be integrating widgets from third-party developers ?

    Hey Dave

Thanks very much - I'm really proud of what we have to offer, especially when talented engineers like yourself "get it". The best way to get 3rd party widgets into SynthaSite, is to use Widgetbox - our users have access to Widgetbox via the remote gallery. If your app is popular or we think it has enough value, we can pull it into one of the main categories. Drop me a mail using my contact form on this blog and I can have a look at it!

We're obviously looking at adding more blog platforms in the future, but Widgetbox is our first one and hopefully it can help you do the job!

    Thanks again!
    Vinny
