Vinny Lingham's Blog: Blogging Tips for Beginners

  • Jesse Bouman · 1 year ago
    Hi Vinny,

Thank you for these great resources!, I went ahead and added them to my rss reader.
I have setup many blogs for friends using WP and a free template, but I have often asked myself the question what are the advantages of going with a professional custom (paid) template? I came across several blog designer's websites/ blogs that offer great designs for a reasonable price, but except the obvious (exclusive template designs) I couldn't find any other reasons to purchase a template as opposed to using a free template.
    Thanks again!.

Some nice tips, will use some of them to launch my own blog somewhere in March. To get a cheap own WP template, take a look at Odesk and post your request.

Also, here in Europe a LinkedIn link on your profile is a good standard

Thanks for the resource Vinny. I've been to Darren's blog a few times and it's always a great read. I'll have to check out that particular post for tips.

Ummm you all sound very knowledgeable so i'm going ot ask really dumb question...... i'm trying to create my website and actaully haven't got a clue as to the principle, i.e. how do i get a web address for my new website? (i'm a real novice at this) and if i don't like the one i started with originally, how can i change it and what does that intail - i know not to try & publish my site before i'm ready!!!
